Hello and thank you so much for visiting my site. My name is Sarah Williamson and I have been making jewellery for over fifteen years and after a number of successful craft fairs set up a website about five years ago.
In April 2023 I went with my friend Lesca to the Creative Craft Show at the NEC in Birmingham. I noticed a table of ladies in a workshop stabbing bits of brown wool, making bumble bees. I had a go and became addicted. The thought that you could just take some wool and make something sculptural with it was fascinating. It was also a lot more difficult than I hoped!
My new hobby gradually took over the dining room. YouTube was amazing for learning new techniques and how to use the tools, not that there are many. Many thanks to Felts by Philippa for her excellent tutorials.
At the Holy Trinity Church Fair in Stratford-on-Avon in September 2023 I sold three quarters of the stock that I'd been making since April and there were a lot of requests for a website or Facebook site so people could have a look at home.
I hope you find my makes interesting, but if you have any questions, including a different postage rate, please contact me by email on dinkyfelts@outlook.com.
If you would like me to make a special item, please contact me to discuss on dinkyfelts@outlook.com. I am gradually building my range of dogs and so far have sold dachshunds, viszlas, cockerpoos, spaniels, labradors and labradoodles. Please see my gallery. I will need at least a week to complete each item and much longer if I need to order a specific colour or colours of wool. Also bear in mind I may already be working on earlier orders, but I will give you a timescale. A commissioned dog would start at £50 (plus postage). While most of my makes fit on the palm of my hand they are not mini makes. Each dog normally takes a minimum of 8 hours to make. I would need plenty of photographs to get a good result. My makes so far have included mice, sheep, star gazing hares, foxes, polar bears, deer, dogs and fairies.
Well apart from the fact they are fairly small, I live in Dinky Cottage. It's not really that dinky, but the village seemed determined we changed the name back to Dinky from Pear Tree. Seemed fair!
Wool is bought directly from World of Wood and smaller suppliers within the UK.
I use authentic and ethically sourced gemstones in small quantities and design individual pieces of jewellery.
I aim to keep my plastic footprint small and will reuse quality cardboard boxes where possible.
I want to treat customers with the honesty and respect they deserve. I want you to feel the same love for my items that I do when making them.
When you order from me, whether it's your first or tenth time, your order is important to me. If you need further help please contact me.
